  • Christ Church on the Common is the oldest Episcopal Church and congregation in the Diocese of Maine. - National Register of Historic Places

  • It is the oldest known example of ecclesiastical Gothic Revival architecture in New England.

  • In 2018, first woman ordained priest at Christ Church.

  • In 2012, a longtime minister of Christ Episcopal Church has been placed on a two-year suspension following a months-long church investigation that found he engaged in sexual misconduct consisting of "inappropriate language and interpersonal boundary violations."
